Founder/ Expedition leader
Lakpa is one the most well known and respected mountain guide in the world. Born and raised in the small village of Thame, Lakpa followed the footsteps of his father and began his first mountaineering expedition at the age of 18 in 1984. From what began as a job, Lakpa soon realized mountaineering was his true passion. On October 7th of 1990, Lakpa made his first summit to Mt. Everest and since then, he has made over 17 summits, and let 36 expeditions, guiding a record of 254 climbers to the summit.
Lakpa moved to the United States in 2000 and started working as a full-time mountain guide around the world, leading expeditions in Alaska, Antarctica, and South America. In 2009, he became the first Sherpa to climb the seven summits. Lakpa was also named the outside magazine’s “Adventurer of the year” in 2013. Lakpa has been guiding full time for over 30 years worldwide with several different guiding companies.

Expedition leader
Born into a family of eight children and the younger brother of legendary mountaineer Lakpa Rita Sherpa, Kami Rita began his mountaineering career at a young age. He reached the summit of Mount Everest for the first time in 1994, launching a career that would redefine the limits of high-altitude climbing.
Over the years, Kami Rita has continually broken his own world record for the most ascents of Mount Everest. By May 17, 2026, he had reached the summit 32 times, an achievement unmatched in the history of mountaineering. Despite his extraordinary accomplishments, he remains committed to climbing and hopes to continue adding to his record for years to come.
Beyond Everest, Kami Rita also holds the record for the most successful ascents of 8,000-meter peaks, with 45 total summits. His achievements include climbing K2, widely regarded as one of the world's most technically challenging and dangerous mountains, Manaslu four times, Lhotse once, and Cho Oyu eight times.
With more than three decades of experience in the Himalayas, Kami Rita is recognized worldwide for his exceptional skill, endurance, and dedication to mountaineering. Residing in Nepal, he continues to inspire climbers around the globe while serving as an ambassador for the Sherpa community and Himalayan guiding profession.
Kami Rita currently holds the Guinness record of the most summits on Mt Everest.
